Who am I?
My name is Gary Ashwal.
I have been making patient education projects since 2006.
A few years ago, I got interested in bowel prep instructions... Can you guess how old I am?
Professional curiosity led me to explore how other clinics explain prep. There is a wide range of quality and detail.
Next, I read articles, dissertations, and studies by the many doctors and nurses working to make prep instructions better.
There is plenty of evidence that clear instructions can improve outcomes for patients and clinics. But many clinics still use instructions that don't align with health literacy principles.
Prep Folder is my effort to design better prep instructions for clinics to share with patients.
